Medical versus Vision Insurance Exams - How will my exam be billed?

The specifics of medical insurance can be confusing and vision coverage is no exception. Insurance companies categorize visits to your eye doctor as either medical or non-medical. In some cases, your service may be eligible to be billed through your medical insurance. When the visit is submitted to your medical insurance, your vision plan may still be used to provide coverage for glasses or contacts. This is often confusing for our patients with both vision and medical coverage. We will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. We are happy to submit charges to your medical or primary vision plan but ultimately you will be responsible for charges that are not covered by your health insurance. It is to your benefit to be aware of possible deductibles and co-pays that are a part of your insurance plan.
