Keith D.Milliron,O.D. Dr. Keith Milliron opened his office in DuBois in 1979 after receiving his doctorate degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. While at ICO he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Fraternity and the Tomb and Key Honor Fraternity. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was awarded the Eugene Strawn Award for academic excellence. Since his graduation, he has been an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association as well as several other professional associations. Dr. Milliron has also been active in the community serving and holding offices on several boards including the DuBois Lions Club, DuBois Little League, North Central Pennsylvania Cerebral Palsy Association, the DuBois Jaycees, and others. He has also been active in his Church serving as a parish council member, a Eucharistic Minister, and serving on the Bishop's Erie Diocese Stewardship Advisory Board. He resides in DuBois with his wife Kathy who is a registered nurse at DRMC. They have two sons Matthew and Michael. Matthew and his wife Bess are both physicians and reside in Cleveland where Matthew is finishing his residency in anesthesiology and Bess is completing her pediatric residency. Michael and his wife Natalie live in State College where Michael is employed at PSU in the athletic department. Dr. Milliron's professional interests include contact lenses, glaucoma, sports vision, and Lasik surgery co-management. His hobbies include golf, photography, and travel. Our comprehensive eye examinations check your eyes for glaucoma, (using as many as 5 different tests to ensure early, accurate detection), cataracts, and all other eye diseases as well as diabetes, high blood pressure and many other systemic diseases. We carefully evaluate your visual skills including depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, binocular vision and focusing. We pride ourselves in the accuracy of our eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions and you'll never have to worry about being sold a pair of glasses you don't want or need. STATE OF THE ART TECHNOLOGYEye care like all other fields of medicine is experiencing rapid technological advances that allow us to diagnose and treat conditions earlier and more accurately than ever before. Dr. Milliron has always added the latest equipment to his practice to benefit his patients. We were one of the first offices in the area to have retinal photography, computerized visual fields,corneal pachymetry and GDx retinal nerve fiber analysis. These tests help diagnose diseases like glaucoma, tumors, strokes and many other conditions. More recently, we became the first practice in the area to offer the Optomap Retinal Exam and the TRS refraction system. These instruments allow more thorough and accurate examinations to be performed. Our patients appreciate that we keep up to date with the best technology available and enjoy using the new equipment almost as much as we do. In our dispensary we offer computer assisted frame selection with the popular Smart Mirror. These are just a few of the ways we strive to bring state of the art eye care to our patients. We constantly attend the best national seminars and conferences to keep abreast of all the technological advances in the eye care profession. REFRACTIVE SURGERY CONSULTANTDr. Miliron has been co-managing refractive surgery patients for about 15 years. He has experience with all the currently available procedures including Lasik, RK, PRK, CK, and all the implant surgeries now available. He has worked with several different surgeons and refractive surgery centers over the years and should you decide to have surgery, he can help you select the best location for you. Together you can discuss the surgical options available to you and the pros and cons of each procedure. If you decide to pursue surgery, Dr. Milliron can do the preoperative evaluation and the postoperative care for you as well. There is no additional charge for this service. Most patients prefer this arrangement because it allows them to stay with a doctor who is familar with their eyes and their unique visual requirements and it is usually more convenient than traveling back to the surgical center for this follow up care.
